Talking to SomaVita

Tap the microphone in the app and talk the way you'd talk to a friend. SomaVita makes the change, shows it, and answers out loud.

What can I say?

That you did something: "I flossed and stretched", "had my dentist cleaning yesterday". Add something: "add a haircut every 6 weeks, my last one was a month ago". Change how often: "make flossing every day". Book a date: "my eye exam is booked for November 14th". Fix a mistake: "I didn't actually stretch today", "delete foam rolling". Or ask: "what's overdue?", "when did I last get my teeth cleaned?"

Tips for the best results

Use the item's name, or something close to it. Say how often in everyday words ("every 6 weeks", "twice a year") and when ("yesterday", "last Friday"); no day means today. You can do a few things at once. It answers after a short pause, or tap the stop button to send sooner. Check the cards under each answer and tap Undo if something's wrong. Deleting always asks you first.

Can I use it without opening the app?

Yes. Say "Hey Siri, ask SomaVita" or "Hey Siri, tell SomaVita" and SomaVita opens, already listening. Or say "Hey Siri, log in SomaVita": Siri asks what to tell it, and SomaVita opens and does it. Start with one of those phrases; said another way, Siri may handle it itself (for example by making a calendar event). You can also hold the SomaVita icon and tap Ask SomaVita, or put it on the Action Button (Settings app, Action Button, Shortcut, Ask SomaVita) or in Control Center and on the Lock Screen with a Shortcut control.

Siri cuts me off or mishears me.

In the iPhone Settings app go to Accessibility, then Siri, and set Siri Pause Time to Longer. If Siri mishears you, say "Hey Siri, ask SomaVita" instead of "log in": SomaVita then does the listening itself and knows the names of your items. You can also open a screen directly, like "Hey Siri, open SomaVita stats".

The voice sounds robotic.

Replies are read in SomaVita's own natural, human-sounding voice. Without an internet connection SomaVita uses your iPhone's voice instead; download a smoother one for free: open the iPhone Settings app, tap Accessibility, then Read & Speak (called Spoken Content on older iPhones), then Voices, then English. Zoe (Premium), Samantha (Enhanced), Jamie (Premium) and Veena (Enhanced) sound best. SomaVita uses it automatically, or pick one in SomaVita's Settings under Voice assistant.

How many voice requests do I get?

25 a day. They come back at midnight. You can always tap an item to update it yourself.

What happens to what I say?

Your iPhone turns your voice into text. That text and your list are sent to Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, to understand it. It isn't used to train AI and SomaVita doesn't keep it. See the privacy policy.

The Home Screen widget

See what's due and tap Done without opening the app. It's included for everyone and needs iOS 17 or later.

How do I add it to my Home Screen?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle. Tap Edit in the top corner, then Add Widget. Search for SomaVita, swipe to the size you like, and tap Add Widget.

And to the Lock Screen?

Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then choose the Lock Screen. Tap the space under the clock (or the line above it) and pick SomaVita: the round one counts what's left today, the wide one names it. The names stay hidden while your phone is locked.

Which size should I pick?

Small shows how many things are due and the next two weeks as a wave. Medium and Large list what's due with a Done button for each, and Large adds what's coming up and the next 30 days.

I tapped Done on the widget. Is it saved?

Yes. The widget ticks it off straight away, and SomaVita saves it the next time you open the app, with an Undo in case you tapped the wrong one.

Common questions

Where is my score?

On the Stats page. Your body score is the share of your tracked items that are on schedule, out of 100. Tap Done on things that are due and it goes up.

What does "due soon" mean?

It's coming up within roughly the last 15% of its interval. For a monthly item, the last 4 or 5 days.

How do I mark something as done?

Tap Done next to it on the home screen. Or tap the item anywhere in the app and choose Mark as done.

I logged the wrong thing.

Tap the item and choose Undo, or find it under Done today on the home screen. For an older one, go to Settings, then History, and swipe it left.

How do I change how often something repeats?

Tap the item, tap Repeats and spin the wheel to the schedule you want, then Save changes.

I forgot to log something on an earlier day.

Go to Stats, tap that day on the calendar, tap the item, and choose Mark as done on that day.

Will SomaVita remind me?

Yes. Turn on Reminders in Settings and you'll get one notification a day, only when something is due. Appointment heads up adds an early warning for things like the dentist.

Is my data backed up?

Yes. Your items and history are saved to your account, so they are there when you sign in on another phone.

I forgot my password.

On the Sign in screen tap Forgot password? and enter the code we email you. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a minute.

How much does SomaVita cost?

One plan with everything included: $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year (half the price of paying monthly). Both start with a 7-day free trial. You'll get a heads-up 2 days before it ends if notifications are on, and if you cancel before then you won't be charged.

Cancelling

SomaVita is billed through the App Store. To cancel, open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then SomaVita. If you cancel during the free trial you won't be charged. Otherwise you keep using SomaVita until the end of the period you've paid for. Your items and history stay saved, so they're all there if you come back.

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything in it. If you can't sign in and want your account deleted, email us from the address you signed up with.
